Wings of Fire: The Dark Secret by Tui T. Sutherland

Today, I had only 30 pages left in my book and it was time to go to work.  There was a lot happening in the book, so this was a bit stressful.  I felt the need to check my watch frequently throughout the day looking forward to the time when I would be able to read that last 30 pages and figure out how the book ended.

I woke up and started reading book five of the Wings of Fire series this morning.  This book is called Wings of Fire: The Dark Secret and is told from Starflight’s point of view.  In this book we are in the Nightwings’ stronghold and follow Starflight through meeting his father and learning more about the prophecy.  I can’t say much more than that without there being spoilers (and without spoilers for the previous books if you haven’t read them yet).  All I can say is that I really enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend the series for those who have not gotten hooked on it yet.

I have recently learned that the author of the Wings of Fire series – Tui T. Sutherland – is also one of the writers of the Warriors books under the Erin Hunter pseudonym.  I am really excited about reading those books soon as well.  Sutherland is an excellent writer, and I hope that those books are as good as the Wings of Fire books.  All of the kids that come in to my work and talk to me about the books they are reading seem to love them.

I am tired now, and I might try to read a bit more before I fall asleep tonight.  Sorry for the short post!  It becomes more and more difficult to write about books in a series without dropping spoilers that would ruin earlier books!  Until next time, Happy Reading!
